Been revising Blighted Land ready for publication.

It’s taken ages to do it, firstly based on feedback from test-readers, then in a second phase, to tidy up inconsistencies and finally to weed out all the poor English. The typos, wrong words (it instead of if, seems a common one) and misplaced punctuation. This is what I have been doing for the last six weeks.

It’s taken longer than it should have because it has been fitted in round the day job. A few paragraphs on the train. Some when at meetings. Waiting for a reply to emails etc. It’s been crammed into the gaps in my day, such as they are. The good thing about editing at a low level is that you don’t need to get into a flow. A typo is a typo.

There’ll probably be a few things slip through (shouldn’t admit that) but it has been really hard work! Word by word, line by line, page by page. Not at all creative!

Be pleased when it is finished and the book is out…
